Family-centered care (FCC) is a partnership approach to health care decision-making between the family and health care provider. FCC is a critical aspect of care because women are the main health care decision makers for the family. Through informed consent and building mutually respectful relationships with our patients we are able to help moms navigate health choices that feel right for themselves and their families or future families. Although we are a women and infant care center we are committed to incorporating fathers and husbands and have many referral sources for health care and behavioral health clinics to serve our new fathers as well. I think it is important as well to add that our future space will have family NPs, lactation services, and peds as well to offer more whole family care.
